Organization for Refugees

These following organization on refugees, are the three that we were talking about; Austcare, Operation Blessing International and Oxfam. This was the down turn in our whole assignment, agreeing about what refugee organization we should choose.

In the end of the day Skye and Caitlyn made up my mind in choosing the organization
Operation Blessing.

Different Organization

First Organization that we looked at. (Guide Dogs)

Second Organization (AWL)

Third Organization (Deaf Children Australia)

Fourth Organization (Giant Panda)

Fifth Organization(WWF)

These different organization made us really think about what our product we want to do for this assignment. We came up some ideas such as; making a book for the Deaf or making something for the Guide Dogs. But overall all of these ideas were a bit hard because Guide Dogs had lots of offfer and the Deaf Children Australia book, will that is explained in Blog 1.

Blog 2

Last lesson we were thinking of getting an organisation. We had our product, which is Message in a Bottle and know we need an organisation to represent out product. We didn’t really have many ideas, until the end of the lesson.
Skye brainstormed on what the product cost, design and the back label. We came up with few suggestions such as; a big bottle with a message in a bottle, a toy of a refuge girl carrying a bottle and a key ring. The group worked really well on what organisation we should pick. There were only three refugee organisation that we looked at; Austcare, Oxfam and Operation Blessing International. We had a decision between Austcare and Operation Blessing International. This is because I wanted to do Austcare because it looked on areas such as; Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Indonesia and lots more. Skye and Caitlyn wanted to do Operation Blessing because they said that Austcare talks about certain countries not just the whole area of Asia, Africa or North and South America (which Operation Blessing does). Skye really helped me make up my mind on what to think about Operation Blessing and I got to see both pictures from them. Caitlyn did a little bit better today because she supported in what Skye said about Operation Blessing and in the end I had to agree with them because they had the point on what out of product really is.
Overall we, as a group have been working together will in finding out what our product is and, we have been putting our heads together, coming up with great ideas in what our product is. We had some down turns in making decisions on what organisation we were doing and what our target audience is. Having ideas that other people in our group disagrees on, makes us realise that there are errors and those errors can be fixed in future lessons.

Blog 1

In these past few weeks my group and I have been working on finding an organization and a product. We have been looking on different organizations such as; Guide Dogs Australia, AWL (Animal Welfare League), Deaf Children Australia, Tywain Panda Breeding Centre and World Wild Life Fund (WWF).
Skye and I have been looking at these organizations finding out what product we should do and how it makes audience interested in our result. Skye had been working great; we’ve been working well together as a group and contributing ideas. She has told me lots of information about these different organizations.
We have degusted about making a book for the Deaf Children Australia, but Ms King said, ‘How does this make me interested in your product? And why does it make me get involved in buying this book?’ Skye and I really thought about this question. We asked ourselves on how this book could help people. We decided that we shouldn’t do it because it’ll be too hard to talk about.

A few days ago we were looking through an organizations that we stubbled on, World Wild Life Fund (WWF). That day was a really confusing day because we had a new member, Caitlyn. We hadn’t gone really far with our assignment because we were still tossing around with what organisation we should do. When we were looking through the website (WWF), I looked at a picture that caught my eye, A Message in a Bottle. Skye asked Klara and Cara-Lee on what they thought about Message in a Bottle and they came up with the idea of Refuges. After that Skye went on the program ‘Inspiration’ to brainstorm so ideas on Message in a Bottle. We came up with lots of good information about what Message in a Bottle really means too us (as you can see on Image 1).
Making this brainstorm was good, except that Skye and I did most of the brainstorming because we thought outside of the box and Caitlyn thought inside. What I mean is that she only thought about what a ‘Message in a Bottle’ such as; treasure, map and things like that, which isn’t really realistic. Therefore Caitlyn didn’t contribute in the brainstorming. I do understand that this is her first lesson but she could see where Skye and I were going so she could think of something like us.
